Design Process

Our goal through the Design/Build Process is to make it as easy and enoyable, for you, the client, as possible. We will always be available to discuss options and answer any of your questions. It is important to us to provide the best service we can.

Initial Meeting

The initial meeting is very important. We will walk around the property with you, discussing ideas for each area, as well as the scope of the project. Our goal here is to establish and understand your expectations. We will discuss the different details that you would like as well as a budget so that we can get a complete scope on the project.

Planning and Specifications

Once this initial scope has been decided, we will then know if there is a need for a computer-generated landscape design and blueprint, if there is a need, we will charge a small fee for this service, which will be fully refunded upon project completion. (Note for complex designs fees may vary).

Once the plans have been created, your designer will call you to set up a time where you can both walk through the design and discuss any changes that might need to be made. The design process on more complex designs could take from a week to a month depending upon whether soil tests or state government compliance issues arise. However, for most projects, the design project can be completed within a couple of weeks.

Contract

Once you and your designer have come to a mutually-acceptable design and budget, a contract will be written up. By having a signed contract you will be assigned a spot in our schedule. Any contract over $1,000 will require a down payment up front.

Scheduling

We strive to complete projects in a timely matter. In the peak season projects could take up to a month to start from contract date. Usually projects will be complete within weeks of contract.

One Week Before Installation

One week before installation your designer will contact you and let you know the start date. We complete projects in the order which we receive signed contracts. In rare cases, projects are delayed from their set start date by outside forces, such as poor weather. Once we start your project your crew will be there every weekday until completion. Most projects only take a couple of days, however more elaborate projects could take several weeks. Your crew will work through your project until completion – they will never start another project until yours is complete.

Final Walkthrough

Your designer wants to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your new landscape. Upon completion there will be a walkthrough of the work done, where we will provide instructions on how to maintain and care for each element of your landscape. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and, as always, if you have any questions about you landscape after we leave we are only a phone call away.
